Madeleine Harding asked:

All dogs require grooming, how frequently depends on the coat type of the dog. When you bring your new puppy home the last thing you might be thinking about is getting the grooming kit out, especially with his lovely soft puppy coat. However, introducing your dog to grooming early in his life is essential if you want a dog that will find the process of grooming tolerable – if not pleasant. At this stage of his life it will also strengthen the bond between puppy and new owner.

Get him used to his feet and nails being held, examined and gently squeezed and gently open his mouth and check his mouth, teeth and gums. Lift the ear flap and look inside and lift his tail to check the **** area. As well as him being conditioned to letting you examine him regularly, these checks will ensure an easier and less stressful time at any forthcoming parlour visits or veterinary examinations.

This is particularly important for the high maintenance breeds that require regular grooming either at home or at the grooming parlour. In addition to regular home handling it is wise to get the dog used to being placed on a table, but do ensure that grooming sessions for the younger dog are not too lengthy or you run the risk of him becoming bored and restless. Shorter sessions are best, and inviting other members of the family to take over will increase his confidence in being handled by different people.

Introduce him to a soft brush at an early stage, just a few strokes at a time before he becomes restless or tries to chew the brush. Reward his patience with praise or a small treat gradually increase the amount of strokes you apply to the coat. A little time in the first few weeks of your lives together will make a great difference to the way he can be handled in the future.

Keep him comfortable and support him on the table making sure that nothing loud or scary occurs. To be spooked now might affect his confidence in the future. Use the correct command “stand” and praise as necessary.

Regular grooming allows you as the owner to assess the condition of your dogs’ coat through inspection.

The coat should be glossy and healthy looking, the eyes should be bright and alert, tail held aloft and wagging with a spring in his step. A good healthy balanced diet, the right amount of exercise and regular grooming contribute to the condition of your dog’s coat.

Choosing a particular breed of dog suits our personalities and possibly our own personal image. To choose a stylish dog and to keep it looking stylish a great deal of work is required on the owner’s part or a great deal of money to send him to the groomers!

When a dog has had his weekly groom or visit to the hairdressers, it makes both him and us feel good.

Mark Smith asked:

Many smart consumers are now using an online drugstore for all their prescription and personal care needs. However, with the increase in demand for such services comes an increase in online pharmacies that offer them. How do you know which website to use when there are several advertised sites from which to choose? Often it comes down to personal preference when consumers are choosing where to shop, but there are a few key points to keep in mind when deciding upon an online drugstore.

Price and Selection

Price and availability of the product should be one of the top criteria when deciding to buy. This is especially true when it comes to prescription drugs. Some can cost thousands of dollars for a one-month supply! The good news is that most drugs are available as generics, and the online drugstore of your choice will have many generics on their shelves. Most online pharmacies also have great pricing, which makes your share after insurance, if you have it, even less than if you purchased retail. Just like big-box stores, online pharmacies want your business, and will lower their prices if it means more business for them.

Recommendations and Referrals

While cost is the number one consideration for most, it shouldn’t be the only one. Not all of us having money to throw around, and with the economy slowing down we strap down our wallets a little tighter. However, keep this in mind when choosing an online drugstore – would you pay a little bit more for an outstanding service recommended by friends and trusted by others? I know many consumers who choose their hairdressers or even cable company based on what others have to say about them. Listen to people you trust.

If you don’t know anyone who has used an online drugstore, look for Pharmacy Board verification. If you see a VIPPS logo on the site, you know it is a “Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Site.” It’s like finding the Good Housekeeping seal of approval, and you’ll know that site is affiliated with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy.

Ability to Purchase Other Goods

One perk to using an online drugstore is that you can purchase more than just prescription medications. One major online pharmacy also sells makeup and skincare, baby items, shampoo, and anything else you might find on the “health and beauty” aisles of your local retail shops. You can even purchase pet medications, which is a real bonus. If you value your time, think of all you will save not having to drive from store to store. Purchasing anything online is like buying from a huge warehouse filled with an infinite number of products, so take advantage and do your other shopping as well.

Location and Shipping

So why would the location of an online drugstore make a difference? In most cases, it doesn’t make a difference. However, if you are like some, you are impatient when it comes to purchasing an item online. You want it fast, you want it now. If you are trying to decide between one or two online pharmacies, consider their location. In all likelihood, a warehouse located 3 hours from you will be able to deliver you items within a day or two. A warehouse located on the opposite side of the country will probably take a week or two, unless you pay more for expedited shipping.

That brings us to the last consideration – shipping costs. Many online drugstore sites will offer free shipping with orders over a certain dollar amount. Or, they may offer frequent enough coupons by email that make it worth it to use their service. You do want to consider the site’s cost of shipping when looking at the cost of their prescriptions – if the cheapest medications are the most expensive to ship, they are not the cheapest medications any longer.

When keeping the above points in mind, you can feel confident in which online drugstore to use. Have no fear, though. With the influx of pharmacies available online, you are sure to find the one that suits your needs perfectly. Even if you have to try out one or two first, it will not take long to find the online pharmacy you will want to use time and again.

eDrugstore.MD is an online pharmacy boasting over eight years of selling FDA-Approved online prescriptions, at the lowest prices available on the internet. Garner an array of benefits associated with buying prescription medicines from the Internet’s leading online pharmacy.

Useful Links:

Lyndle Chilman Iat asked:

/>Caring For Your Hair is Easy

Respect your hair!

Your inner health is just as important as the products you apply externally to your hair. Inner health is your nutritional, metabolic, hormonal and all other functions that influence your body.

A Few Facts

Do you know what hair is made of?

Dead cells…lots and lots of them.

Hair is made up of three layers

-The Outside is called the cuticle

-The Inside is called the medulla

- In between the two is called the Cortex

The cortex is where the strength of hair is. The cortex is made up mainly of strong protein bonds. There are also two other bonds which is hydrogen and salt. When hair is wet it is more flexible because the salt and hydrogen bonds that provide 2/3rds the strength of hair are broken by water. These are replaced when dry. This is how blow dried styles hold their shape. The third (the disulphide bond) is broken by chemicals and the sun.

There are many other vitamins, minerals and hormones that affect the condition or strength of hair.

There are three classifications of hair: fine, medium, and coarse. This is referring to the diameter (thickness) of each individual hair. The finer the hair the less cortex there is, so it is not as strong as what thick would be. If thick hair has been chemically treated this could mean that the finer hair may of course be stronger as chemicals permanently damage the disulphide bonds in the cortex.

What do we do wrong?

The obvious causes of hair damage:

We all know that colours damage the hair. Semi Permanent colours don’t do as much damage as the permanent but depending on the hair type it too can have more of a negative effect than desired.

Any chemical service in the hair will permanently alter and damage the chemical bonding strength in the hair. Having two chemical services (Perm and colour) will give even more damage to the internal structure.

Permanent straightening of any sort is a chemical service as well and should be noted that it is the same as if you had a colour or perm done in the affects on the hair.

The not so obvious causes of hair damage:

Blow Drying

Blow drying seems like a harmless thing to do. Just think about a few things first

1) How often do you blow dry your hair?

2) What heat do you have your hair dryer on?

3) How long do you keep the hair dryer in one spot on your hair?

If you blow dry your hair daily, on high heat, and/or don’t keep it moving this can cause mechanical damage to the hair.

Brushes

Brushing your hair is harmless unless it is done the wrong way. Everything has a right and wrong way to do things. Any strain put on the hair has the chance of causing breakage. When the hair is wet it is at one of its weakest moments.

Put the last two together and you have even more chance of damage.

Straightening Irons

Straightening irons are hot and having them in one spot on the hair to long will cause it to burn and break.

Putting Hair Up

Putting your hair up is hard. (I am a woman so I sympathise.) Putting it up too tight or under to much strain will break the hair. Be gentle with it.

Imagine if you have a chemical service in your hair as well as the above processes being done…

Even more chance of breakage.

When two out of the three bonds that give hair strength are broken by water it will be more susceptible to breakage when wet.

If you put finer hair together with a hot round brush blow drying the chance of breakage is high.

Conditioning treatments and leave in treatments are important in patching and protecting hair from damage.

Hai r problems can occur genetically, physically, by mechanical and chemical means. Having only one can be bad enough but if you combine any of them the risk of damage is higher.

Internal Health-How can it help?

Let’s start from the beginning…

How does hair grow?

Juliet Cohen asked:

Ever wish you could have long hair or hair thicker than what you have? Well, in today’s world, you can now do so without waiting for your hair to grow on its own. This is called hair extensions. This is something that is done for many women, or to get thicker hair. If you have hair extensions, be sure to do so by a professional, and as long as you do, they will stay in your hair for a maximum of 3 months.

Hair extensions are harmless to your hair. This hairstyle is by simple application of strands of human hair or synthetic materials that the appearance of your hair like natural hair. Hair extensions are placed on your hair with glue or fusion bonding. It is still safe for your hair. If you decide to take the hair extensions before they are ready to leave, the professional will simply use an application that will turn the adhesive to a powder and extensions will just come right out, without injury to your hair natural. There are two types of hair extensions, you can get to your new hairstyle. The first is called Synthetic Extensions. These extensions are made of nylon, polyester, or modacrylic. This type of hair extensions are mainly used to simply give your hair style funky bright colors for a night out on the town.

The only reason for this is that these types of extensions melt when they come close to curling irons and blow dryers. You can get this kind of hair extensions at any store and are used as a temporary hair style. The second type of extension is the hair in hair extensions. These extensions are made by a professional in a hairdressing salon. These extensions may be curly hair, straightened, colored, and treated as normal hair everyday. These extensions are more expensive. Function on the amount of extensions that you have and what method they use to organize extensions, you can pay anywhere from $ 150 to $ 2000. The process to get this done will take 6 to 8 hours.

So, make sure you have enough time to get this done. Now, you know the two different ways of obtaining extensions. This can be a fun and **** thing to have done so. If it comes to a night out and then get the first choice of extensions. If you want your extensions to last a few months, then the second choice is the way to go.

BecomeGorgeous asked:

I bet you got annoyed about using the flat iron each morning, so here’s a longer lasting hair straightening technique that will help you out in the everyday styling. Also called as yuko straightening, or thermal reconditioning, the Japanese hair straightening is one of the most long lasting ones at the moment. It takes from 2 to 6 hours to get it, but it lasts about one year. The procedure time depends on the hair’s length and type.

It involves applying relaxers to your hair and treating it with chemicals. Than the hair is separated in stripes, ironed, rinsed and blow dried. After the treatment, keep your hair away from sun and make sure you moisturize it well. It is recommended to have a proper deep conditioning and the use of UV protective products that will assure your hair’s health. Also, you should wait at least 2 months before dying it again.

The Japanese hair straightening is a bit more expensive than the Brazilian one, but it also has a longer lasting result. It provides a sleek, smooth and shiny hair.

When looking for a saloon, make sure the hairdresser has enough experience, because this technique need special skills and training to make it well. It involves chemical treatments, so the hairdresser should be quite aware of what’s happening on your head.

Tips for the best results:

get a haircut after having the treatment. Having a different texture might help you choose a better haircut.

tell your hairdresser everything about the treatments your hair had, like relaxers for examples. If your hair was relaxed before, you might not be able to get the Japanese hair straightening treatment. Your hairdresser can tell you how much time you need to wait until it’s ok to straighten your hair.

it is a less damaging process than flat ironing your hair each day

it is not recommended for African hair types.

you’ll need to use special shampoos and conditioners. Your hairdresser will tell you more about that

in the first 72 hours, avoid contact with wet or moisture.

So stop being frustrated about your imperfect hair and forget about frizzy, unmanageable hair. It is a Japanese technique that proved to be effective in any single way. Find the best saloon and get your hair done. Get professional hair treatments and enjoy a shiny helathy hair.

Jacquie Generra asked:

Weddings may happen to you once or maybe twice in your life. We all want our hair and all other details to be just perfect.

Your dream hairstyle

Here are some ideas on how to choose a wedding hair style:

Most women will admit to having at least a few fantasies about her future wedding since childhood. Even the most extreme tomboy has dreamed of her wedding more than once. When you had daydreams about your wedding, what did you hair look like? Was it styled with a glamorous French braid with tendrils hanging down your neck? Or – as your new husband carried you over the threshold did you loosen your hair to cascade you’re your shoulders? To make sure you don’t regret anything later on, you should always confess to your fantasies ahead of time.

Your Wildest Dreams Can Become Real.

Occasionally, it turns out that your dream hairdo bears little resemblance to the hairdo you actually end up with. For longer, thicker hair, consider extensions if your hair is short and thin. You need to recognize how far you have to go to get from here to there, in short. If you want a chignon but don’t want the bangs in your new hairdo, you should start getting your bangs longer now.

Look at your options.

The info to be found online is astounding. From curly to straight to ethnic styles from sleek to braided to bouffant and you’ll find galleries of hair styles for hair. Find out what appeals to you, and print out those styles that really catch your eye, so that you can share them with your stylist, but the idea is to broaden your outlook a little.

Talk to a real professional.

Along with who you can afford, and who is available on your wedding day, there are still a few more things you need to consider, and for this, you’ll need to revisit your wedding fantasies again and also find a professional stylist who you feel comfortable with, and who feels confident working with your type of hair. Do you see yourself coming from a downtown salon, hair freshly done, bridesmaids in tow, or is your fantasy more of the in-my-bathrobe-with-the-stylist-at-my-home variety? If that is what you want be sure to check that the hairdresser will visit your home, and that you have the materials for her to give you your dream wedding hairstyle. Consider power outlets, sinks, and lighting). Ranging from whether or not you’ll be wearing a veil to when she can expect to be paid for her wedding day work, your stylist will have plenty of questions for you, too. You will want to plan out the details in advance so there won’t be any last minute problems when the big day comes.

The dress.

Unless you are donning a special period piece you don’t need to worry too much about matching your wedding hair style with your wedding dress. You’ll certainly want to see how your hair sits with your chosen neckline, but chances are it will look great whether you wear it up or down. If you are having a very formal wedding, you will probably want to move the mood up a level by wearing your hair in an up do.

Be ready to pay. You’ll have to pay for your hair styling just like you’re paying for everything else – someone had to break this to you, better that it were me. If it seems like everything costs more than it does normally, you’re experiencing what I call “the wedding surcharge” – people charge up to 25% more for their services because, well, because they can – things do cost more when you’re getting married. However, even if you want to save money, you certainly don’t want to cut back on your hair.

Re-hair-sal.

A practice run is just what it sounds like. The hair stylist works out your styling choice in advance in order that you can preview it. Even if you tell the hairdresser to please themselves with the style, your practice run will give you an idea of how s/he works. A little more puff on top, some loose wispy ringlet–this is your chance to get your wedding hairstyle vision right. It isn’t cheap to do, but it will put your mind at ease and which is priceless.

Accoutrements.

Don’t forget that an incredible variety of hair accessories are available to you, ranging from pearl barrettes and hair combs to flowers and tiaras. That needs to be integrated into your choice of accessories as well, if you’re wearing a veil. This is a great opportunity to do so, if you’ve always wanted to wear a tiara. It is possible to go OTT (Over-the-top and back again!) if you want to, because this is your special day.

Pay attention to all of the minor details for your wedding. And don’t forget having the right guy to marry might be helpful too!

Alien asked:

Once Upon A Time, hair fashion moved slowly. A look that was popular in one century might still be just as current in the next. And when looks did change, they did so subtly – maybe the shape of a curl became more pronounced, or the curl disappeared entirely, or an up-do became a bit flatter and migrated from the crown to the back of the head. Today, however, fashion moves at lightning speed. Looks no longer survive a full year; most die after a season. To make matters worse, the changes are drastic. In 3 months, pixies can give way to long shags, only to move in another 3 months to sleek near-the-waist manes. No one I know has hair that grows that fast! So the best advice I can give you, and which has been given to me by countless stylists, is to disregard most of what’s happening in fashion.

Staying in style

You probably don’t want to ignore fashion totally – nor do most hairdressers want you to. After all, you want to look contemporary. Instead of changing your entire look to mimic what’s going on in Vogue, however, try changing an element. Let’s say you notice banged bobs in all the magazines – and indeed, you even read several articles on “banged bobs for spring.” Perhaps you **** bobs, but wouldn’t mind updating your look. The easy solution? After studying trends, choose an element that you happen to like. In this instance, get bangs.

Before you incorporate current trends into your ‘do, talk to your hairdresser. For instance, if wispy looks make an appearance and your hair is too thin to carry off the layering needed for such styles, your stylist can create a slight touch of wispiness in your bang area.

Sunscreen

There Was a Time when we didn’t know tanning was bad for us. Back then, we’d lie in the sun for hours, slathering ourselves with homemade concoctions such as baby oil mixed with iodine, in an effort to increase that tan. Today, we absolutely know better – there is no such thing as a healthy tan!

What many people forget, however, is that sunscreen is just as important for the body. Daily sunscreen is a must. Opt for a product with high UVA and UVB protection, such as a formula with zinc oxide or Parsol1789 (also called avobenzone).

Juliet Cohen asked:

Hand dermatitis (also known as hand eczema) often results from a combination of causes, including genetic makeup (constitutional factors), injury (contact with irritants) and allergy. This condition is usually multi-factorial. The skin can react to the inflammation by forming scales. Fissures can then develop and these can be quite painful. The majority of individuals who have irritant dermatitis (75% of all cases of hand dermatitis) will produce this through contact with detergents, cleansers, water, metals, food or rubber. Hand dermatitis is particularly common in industries involving cleaning, catering, metalwork, hairdressing, healthcare and mechanical work. Hand dermatitis varies in severity. It may affect the backs of the hands, the palms or both sites.

Often it starts as a mild intermittent complaint, but it can become increasingly severe and persistent. The affected skin initially becomes red and dry, then progresses to itchy papules (bumps) and fluid-filled blisters (vesicles), scaling, cracking (fissures), weeping (exudation) and swelling (oedema). Hand dermatitis can spread to affect other sites, particularly the forearms and feet. Emotional stresses make hand dermatitis worse, especially the type known as pompholyx in which crops of very itchy vesicles erupt on the palms. Some people are more prone to hand dermatitis than others. They often have a personal or family history of atopic dermatitis, asthma or hay fever. Friction and repetitive injury also damage the skin. Irritants result in much more damage once dermatitis has become established

To treat hand dermatitis, you must avoid contact with the substance that irritates your skin. Protect your hands from direct contact with soaps, detergents, scouring powders, and similar irritating chemicals by wearing waterproof, cotton lined, gloves. Topical steroids to reduce inflammation. These come in various strengths and should only be applied to areas of active dermatitis once or twice daily. Avoid the temptation of using very hot water even if wearing gloves. Wear cotton gloves to do general house work as they can be washed instead of washing your hands too often. Cortisone ointments are used treat severe cases of hand dermatitis.

Mud Gloves are good for working outside if you have hand dermatitis. Use a mild soap (Dove, Basis, Olay, Cetaphil) or a soap substitute.

Hand Dermatitis Treatment and Prevention Tips

1. Use a long handled brush for washing the dishes

2. Avoid direct contact with turpentine, paint thinner and paints.

3. Avoid the temptation of using very hot water even if wearing gloves.

4. Keep hand washing to a minimum, keep water temperature luke warm

5. Avoid harsh or scented soaps, soapless cleansers may be the best to use.

6. Apply moisturizers after washing, ointments that are clear and sticky seem to work the best.

7. Avoid heating or cooling the skin, sweating within rubber gloves alone can worsen the dermatitis.

8. Wear cotton gloves to do general house work as they can be washed instead of washing your hands too often.
